 On 5 September at 18:00, the exhibition WAYWORD opens at the SODAS 2123 Project Space (Vitebsko St. 21, second floor).
The exhibition will be open until 5 October.

The exhibition WAYWORD is a field in which birds appear as metonymies of promise, memory and change. New works created specifically for the exhibition remain in a state of flux here, almost unfinished, and as the roles of the participants overlap, the exhibition itself constantly dismantles and reconfigures itself.

The neologism “Wayword” describes this process as a deviation of word and direction. Words, sparrows, waywords… a world suspended on its own tropes, beheading a chimera at the ends of Baroque furniture.

The visual of the exhibition is part of Kamilė Pikelytė’s ongoing project Spąstai.

The exhibition is part of the Emerging Curators Platform, an educational and mentorship programme for emerging curators aimed at strengthening practical curatorial skills and fostering collaboration within the contemporary art field. This year’s platform is curated by artist and curator Ona Juciūtė.
