Valentina Sansone

Valentina Sansone is a PhD candidate at Goldsmiths, University of London, and an independent contemporary art writer, curator, and educator based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her research addresses social reuse as a space for curatorial engagement. Sansone’s practice focuses on interdisciplinary methods and strategies for activating, engaging, and mobilising publics. Since 2018, Sansone is the Founder of Magazzino Brancaccio a project on experimental curatorial practices in the public space.

She has curated exhibitions and events in international public institutions, artists-run projects, performing arts festivals and biennales (Bildmuseet and Norrlandsoperan, Umeå, Sweden; The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm; Italienska Kulturinstitutet i Stockholm; Istituto Svizzero di Roma, Italy; Uovo Performing Arts Festival, Milan, and Manifesta12, Palermo, Italy), featuring artists such as Yvonne Rainer, Laure Prouvost, Lap-See Lam, Dunja Herzog, Derek MF Di Fabio, and Valentina Vetturi, among many others. She has written on several artists’ work for contemporary art magazines (Flash Art InternationalFriezeDIS Magazine) and the Italian newspaper Il Manifesto.
