Please meet our first resident of 2026, artist from Finland, Tuomas Lehtomaa.
Tuomas Lehtomaa is an artist from Finland who works with sculpture and site-specific installation, exploring how everyday materials and spatial situations shape systems of meaning, knowledge, and value. Their practice is driven by an interest in affect, material presence, and the subtle ways in which ordinary environments can carry poetic and resistant potential. Lehtomaa received an MFA in Sculpture from the Academy of Fine Arts Helsinki in 2024.
During their residency at SODAS 2123, Lehtomaa is developing a new body of work to be exhibited later in the year. This project builds on their long-term engagement with everyday materials and situations, approaching them as sites of quiet resistance and alternative ways of sensing and understanding the world.
The activities of SODAS 2123 are financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Vilnius city municipality.
