Seher Uysal

Seher Uysal is a visual artist and researcher based in Istanbul. Her artistic practice is often shaped by inquiries into everyday life, and her works take the form of artistic research–driven reflections on spatial, historical, and cultural conditions. She is particularly interested in exploring multiple perspectives and ways of understanding phenomena, frequently approaching complex ideas through simple means such as drawing, the accumulation of lists and inventories, and the framing and juxtaposition of images and artifacts.

Since 2022, Uysal has been developing a video installation project titled Beyond Vision, in which she investigates how individuals engage senses beyond sight—such as hearing, smell, and touch—as pathways to knowledge, creativity, and self-expression. During the residency, Uysal will finalize one part of the installation and further refine its conceptual framework, focusing on self-learning strategies, sensory knowledge, and the ways identity is constructed through non-visual experiences.

The activities of SODAS 2123 are financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and Vilnius city municipality.
