“Method, Sound & Silence” is an educational programme in experimental and electronic music and sound art running since 2023, aimed at emerging creators who want to develop their practice, gain professional knowledge with the guidance of mentors, and present their work publicly. The programme combines live performances, creative workshops, discussions, and mentoring sessions, giving participants the chance not only to develop their creative skills but also to understand the broader context of musical creation – from sound experimentation to copyright, from the distribution of works to engaging with an audience.
Over the years, “Method, Sound & Silence” has presented live performances by more than 30 young creators and performers, many of whom took the stage for the first time as authors of experimental music. Among them are Davai Bėgam, BRTQ, Elena Laurinavičiūtė, Natas Kunas, Paula Bagotyriūtė, Álino Garino, Danila Berezko, ugnekavka, Matis Fledžinskas, Rugilė Jonušaitė, Teapot Monsterhouse, pixiepearl, Na Ša., Marco Righetto, 5iuk5le5, and others. Today, these names are well recognised on Vilnius’s music scene, appearing in concert line-ups and recording projects – with “Method, Sound & Silence” having served as a significant first step toward their professional goals.
