J. P. Laitinen is a professional writer from Finland, with a 20-year career ranging from journalism to non-fiction books and fiction. He has received several national awards from his work.

Laitinen’s debut novel Lume was published by Teos, an independent publisher in Finland in 2019. The novel has received two literary awards and critics have compared it to the works of Fjodor Dostoyevski, Peter Handke, Ian MacEvan and Thomas Bernhard. The Lithuanian translation (Fiktyvus) came out from Hubris in August 2023.

As a fiction writer, J.P. Laitinen aims to combine philosophical topics with compelling storytelling that hooks the reader and doesn’t let go.

J.P. Laitinen will participate at Paviljonas Book Festival on the 2nd of December and present the Lithuanian edition of his novel Lume.
