Join us on Thursday, August 6 at 6 pm for the opening of A Place You Know, That I Know Less, curated by Caroline Ruz as part of the Emerging Curators’ Platform (ECP), at the SODAS 2123 Project Space, Vitebsko st. 21, second floor.
A home slowly unbuilding itself through nothing more than time and absence. A Place You Know, That I Know Less gives voice to the quiet estrangement of a place once known and the disorientation that comes with returning to it. The exhibition brings together five artists who each return to an existing work, reimagining it in a new form.
The exhibition will run until 28th of August.

Moving between intimacy and estrangement, the exhibition asks what remains of a place once we have left it, and what happens when we return. Memory does not preserve a home intact: it rearranges it, leaves gaps, sharpens certain details while allowing others to disappear. Here, returning becomes less an act of recovery than an encounter with distance – between what was remembered, what remains, and what can no longer be found.
The exhibition brings together video, photography, burning slides, painting, and installation by Laura Stasiulytė, Visvaldas Morkevičius, Aurelija Maknytė, Nida Shah, and Emilija Višinskaitė.

The event is part of the Emerging Curators Platform (ECP), an educational and mentorship programme for emerging curators aimed at strengthening practical curatorial skills and fostering collaboration within the field of contemporary art. This year’s edition of the platform is curated by artist and curator Ona Juciūtė.
