Evelina Kehagia

During August and September, the SODAS 2123 residency programme “A-I-R” is collaborating with the contemporary city festival AUDRA. This year’s invited resident is Evelina Kehagia, an artist whose interdisciplinary practice explores parasitic relationships and dystopian structures.

Evelina Kehagia (b. 1998, Athens) is an artist based in Greece. She presented her first solo show Tapeworm Love at Hyperlink Athens in 2024. Her work explores parasitic relationships, dystopian structures, and systems of decay through sculptural installations. Drawing from science fiction, fossils, video games, and post-human speculative ecosystems, her practice examines how organic and synthetic elements become parasitised, co-dependent, or infected. Her sculptures often incorporate biomechanical and industrial forms, made from found materials sourced from abandoned spaces, chemically altered and fused into hybrid entities. Decay is not an end point, but a method of connection.

During the residency at SODAS 2123, she will continue developing Wet Nurse, a sculptural installation to be presented at AUDRA Festival. The work explores decayed life-preservation systems through a failed artificial wet nurse.Half host, half parasite.

The activities of the AUDRA Contemporary City Festival are supported by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
