Launched in 2025, the “Emerging Curators Platform” (ECP) responds to the lack of support and professional attention for early-career curators in the Lithuanian contemporary art field. The platform gives early-career curators the opportunity to realise their own exhibition ideas, gain hands-on experience, and become closely acquainted with every stage of curatorial work – from developing a concept, working with artists, and project planning, to preparing a communication strategy and installing the exhibition.
Participants selected through an open call receive comprehensive support from curators with long-standing experience in the cultural field, who share their professional knowledge and help bring participants’ exhibition ideas to life.
The ECP functions not only as an educational programme but also as a growing professional community, bringing together curators of varying experience for dialogue, the exchange of knowledge, and critical reflection on contemporary curatorial practice. In addition, the platform organises public lectures and discussions aimed at presenting different curatorial methodologies and research, addressing challenges relevant to the contemporary art field, and encouraging broader discussion about the role of the curator today.
