Agnieszka Palaczynska is an architect and stage designer from Poland. She studied Architecture and Urban planning at Cracow University of Technology and École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Grenoble, as well as Stage Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. She gained professional experience working with multiple architecture studios, such as Active City Transformation (Copenhagen), Marchi Architectes (Paris), Openfabric (Rotterdam), Chris Collaris Architects (Amsterdam), Anouk Vogel landscape architecture (Amsterdam) and Studio Kontent (Warsaw). She also participated in several film projects as a stage designer. Currently she is working as a freelance architect and developing her own creative practice at the intersection of fields – architecture, scenography and visual arts. Recently in her work she focuses on issues of architecture in the natural sites and subconscious creative processes.

During her residency in SODAS 2123, Agnieszka will research on improvisation techniques such as automatic drawing developed by the surrealists and Real Time Composition invented by Portuguese choreographer João Fiadeiro. The main aim is to explore how forms and concepts freely created by the subconscious, can be translated to the language of architecture, as a process-oriented creation practice.

SODAS 2123 residency program supported by Lithuanian Council for Culture and Vilnius city municipality.
