The SODAS 2123 cultural centre is a self-governing community-based space, operated and curated by the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association. It brings together creators and researchers from different fields with practices based on experimentation, developing unexpected formats and responding to the latest cultural, social, geopolitical and ecological issues.

With over 50 artists’ studios, rehearsal spaces for bands, offices for design, film and visual arts organisations, galleries, various workshops, an event hall, a café, a public outdoor garden and an allotment, SODAS 2123 provides spaces for a variety of art and cultural disciplines, and each resident of the complex is open to sharing, learning and craftsmanship.

The SODAS 2123 artist-in-residence programme invites artists, curators, designers, architects, researchers and other creators to become part of the SODAS 2123 community. The programme’s participants are welcome to initiate event-based programmes, participate in open studios, present the results of their residency in various forms and become part of the SODAS 2123 community’s events. The residency is self-curated and we expect residents to work and develop their artistic projects individually with the support of the SODAS 2123 team, organising events and
presentations that share the results or processes of the residency. The residency hosts 2–3 participants at a time.

SODAS 2123 provides individual rooms and the opportunity to work in a shared studio. Residents are responsible for providing their own equipment and the materials needed for their artistic projects.
