Recently opened largest cultural centre in Lithuania SODAS 2123 (Vitebsko Str. 21 and 23, Vilnius) is continuing its opening program. Between 24-26 September one more series of events – performances, exhibitions, artists’ open studios and other events will be presented. Some of the events will also be available online.
On 25th September, during the “Culture Night” event, a performance “TikTok Shakespeare” by Dr.GoraParasit will be premiered, inviting visitors for new multimedia experience. Openings of two exhibitions will also take place on this weekend at SODAS 2123 – from 24th September Design Foundation is presenting an exhibition “Gvaldos Kambarys”, and from 25th September gallery “Trivium” is opening an exhibition by Dainius Liškevičius titled “VOGUE”.
Considering changing conditions of visiting public events and related public health concerns, the organisers are inviting to visit SODAS 2123 opening events throughout entire fall season. Full events programme will be regularly updated online. Five series of events will be organised until the end of the year.
Cultural centre SODAS 2123 is a self-governed community-based space, initiated and curated by Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association. It unites tens of creators and researchers of different fields, with practices based on experimentation, developing of unexpected formats and responding to latest cultural, social, geopolitical, ecological issues. With over 30 artist studios, rehearsing studios for music bands, offices of design, film, visual arts organisations, exhibition spaces, event spaces, various workshops, cafe, public outdoor garden space, public allotments and more – SODAS 2123 provides space for a variety of art and cultural disciplines, and each resident of the complex is open for sharing, learning and craftsmanship. From now on SODAS 2123 is definitely a new spot on the cultural map of Vilnius. Starting from September SODAS 2123 is operating during events, while it is planned to fully open it at a later stage when the work around the indoor space and the outdoor environment is more complete.
Cultural centre SODAS 2123 is initiated and curated by Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists’ Association.The project is supported by Vilnius City Municipality and Lithuanian Council for Culture.
