Creative listening workshop “To Hear. To Listen”. Dominykas Digimas | BLOSSOM

On September 4th, 11 a.m. we invite you to the creative listening workshop of Dominykas Digimas in the FAMM space.

(Vitebsko st. 21, Vilnius; SODAS 2123, next to the Atletika gallery)

During this creative workshop, we will try to find out how attentive we are in the daily hustle and bustle of the city, what degrees of attentiveness we hear, how we can classify the sounds around us, when do the sounds become a soundscape and how we can change it without physically doing anything.

The workshop will consist of a theoretical discussion of listening practices, their application in an open space during a sound walk, tasks of field recording and analysis by visualizing and classifying them, and a general creative task of creating a sketch of a sound piece.

Dominykas Digimas (*1993) is a composer of the younger generation, whose fields of practice cover a wide range of different areas of sound and music. Apart from the field of academic music, Dominykas works within the context of sound art and is actively involved with performing arts.

His works are characterized by asceticism – they are never overflowing with matter, it is accompanied by substance. In part, his works can be described as introverted; they force you to dive into self-analysis and drown you in subjective reflections.
