Botanical philosophical excursions | Blossom

The educational workshop series “Blossom” continues. This time we invite you to two “Botanical philosophy excursions” in SODAS 2123 surroundings with philosopher Vilius Dranseika on August 16th and 30th.

Vilius Dranseika is a philosopher and a scientist of Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. His field of research is psychological basis of philosophical thinking.

From time to time since 2019 Vilius invites to observe the nature of plants and mushrooms. As well as to create parallels between principles that flora follows, human language and thinking. The excursion aims to inspire raising abstract questions since plants and mushrooms obey similar principles of functioning as humans.

Excursions about plants and mushrooms will be held on August 16th and 30th.

During the first excursion (08.16, 7PM) we will observe plants and discuss the notions of growth and movement in the environment.

The second excursion (08.30, 7PM) will be about the notions of identity and the individual.
